2000 is a good size for a high school. I expect people in FCPS who stand to be moved from McLean or Marshall to Langley in a few years to stay around that number will be happier than those moved from W-L to Wakefield.

Woodson is sometimes singled out because it's up there with Madison and McLean as schools that are always up there in terms of test scores and rankings, below Langley, but not as expensive. It also has one of the largest Jewish populations in NoVa. It's not as close to DC as most of the area assigned to McLean, but the Annandale neighborhoods in the Woodson district are closer than the areas in Vienna assigned to McLean or the areas in Vienna and Oakton assigned to Madison.


Many more kids from W-L got into Ivies than from McLean and even Yorktown--check out latest Arlington magazine with breakdowns.


Unless W-L somehow applied to be part of FCPS, which I could understand given how bad the test scores are there, this isn't relevant.

It's actually one of the smaller schools in the county, both by enrollment and size. Schools like Westfield and Robinson are much bigger.

1,974 in 2013-2014 ("this" year)
