The only family I know who did it was admitted to Alabama. Enough said.

Nice performance, especially the denouement. You should wear goggles next time.

We did brisk business making Homecoming Mums for the uncrafty or procrastinators, and this looks just like that, only for non-Texans.

A "homecoming Mum?"

WTF?? And WHY?
Yeah, wtf is that? I know I can google, but I like the person I am without knowing what this is.

Oh, it's so much worse that I imagined. My eyes

You could generate any of these photos using AI in about 3 seconds. (However, I wouldn’t recommend it).

I don’t know any first gen families who have done this. The ones that show up on my feed are UMC. Some public school kids and some private school kids. I also see a trend where parents post photos of kids wearing cowboy boots and hats as an announcement for Texas and other southern schools. That feels a little cringey too.

The bed party that has shown up in my social feed is from a very wealthy family in Palm Beach. Daughter is going to Alabama. That came with requests (from the mother) for recommendation letters to various sororities. It’s a different world!

In the DMV, your kid wears a hoodie on May 1st or for their decision IG post or whatever

There’s some local schools too:

I cannot imagine being proud that my kid was going to George Mason.

That makes you grosser than a bed party.

Wow. I had absolutely no idea kids actually do this! It's a social media photo shoot.

I hate these, and it's a reflection of materialism, over-consumption, me-me-me attitudes, and life is only lived well if on social media. I HATE BED PARTIES. THEY ARE A WASTE OF MONEY AND SPOIL YOUR UMC KIDS.

Same and I’m from a culture where people will gift basics to a student going off to college.
