This isn’t about people vacationing, it’s people who work there including military and USG spouses and families.
So, the people who have been enabling a genocide find that their genocidal government doesn't care about any human life, including theirs. Imagine that.
There are people in the region like my 30 year old niece who just got a new job where she was made head of operations in the middle east and was there for work. Lucky for her, she's a British national, and managed to get out.
She went willingly in return for a check to what was already one of the hottest war zones in the world and everyone knew would get significantly worse very quickly. Good for her that she was evacuated, but I wouldn't feel sorry for her if she was stuck there. Actions have consequences and she isn't special.
Look, this is a weird direction to trial balloon...but run with it I guess. Trump abandoned hundreds of thousands of Americans in a warzone he created. That's now part of his shameful legacy and your gaslighting.

Even dedicated patriots. MAGA says “need not apply!”

Is this the latest MAGA excuse? This is what you get for being in the Middle East?
DP. You hurling "MAGA" at anyone you want to silence is just beyond immature. Grow the hell up.
Silencing? What are you talking about? There are American citizens abroad in dangerous countries and the government needs to get them out. What on Earth does a Sally Field movie have to do with the government's failure to do this basic task?
Nice gaslighting. Strange you refuse to address calling anyone you disagree with "MAGA". What does that have to do with a Sally Field movie? You could have simply said the bolded in response to the PP, but you're so childish, you have to ASSume the PP must be MAGA for making a joke. Get over yourself.

Europe and some Asian countries began evacuation charters. Earlier today, the USG was saying that they had no plans to evac Americans even though no commercial airlines are flying at this time. If you call the State Department number, it is pretty damning - "shelter in place and refresh your browser for updates from your local embassy").
Just a bit ago on Capitol Hill, before Rubio went in to brief senators, he announced that USG will be evacuating Americans in the region, that they should try to drive to the closest airport, even if it is in a neighboring country, that they should enroll in the STEP program, etc. I called the State Department number again and it is the same recording - "please do not rely on the USG for assisted departure or evacuation at this time blah blah blah."
This is an ef up of epic proportions. Heads would roll for this, not just one.
They should take a bus to Egypt. These people had a month to leave yet they chose to stay.
Please share the cite for when the US State Department told folks to evac the region?

This list does not include many of the countries where the airports are now closed.
Do better when stumping for MAGA.
JFC. Use your common sense. Do you have any?
