Trust that no one cares what he’s doing and all focus is on how poorly the county managed it.
Is it managed poorly when we are talking about South County, Westfields, or Madison?
You are a clueless clown. NO ONE has tried to pull what Overton and Hayfield did. The DSA was proven to have knowledge when he interviewed Overton that a bunch of kids were coming with him. AND then they did and a bunch of others. But this isn’t about Overton. It’s about an administration that lied and looked the other way to avoid disciplining a black coach and principal.
Fairfax had a coach that paid the family of a a player. That’s a bigger violation than anything Overton had been alleged of doing.
Overton was never even found to have committed any violations, but we do have some other schools in Fairfax County that are currently getting athletes from outside of their schools boundaries. It was a problem when people thought Overton was doing it.
The year Overtons team was pulled, another team with a suspect roster took its place representing Nova in the championship, and that team continues to have one of the stronger football programs in Fairfax County. Now all over the county we are seeing schools with kids from outside the school’s zoning boundaries in order to boost their football, Lacrosse, baseball, or basketball programs. Yet we are still worried about Overton.
You Overton supporters love to throw out vague accusations but never have evidence or details. Fairfax high school was punished, admitted to cheating, and is currently being investigated. The head
Coach has been on leave all school year. Hayfield and Overton did none of that. They lied, covered up, and left town before they could be punished. Still to this day no one at Hayfield has admitted to anything.
What facts do you have that other schools are cheating? Show us the evidence. There are a few programs in FCPS that have several transfers, but those kids were vetted and cleared by the school and FCPS before they were permitted to play. Some were even get turned away. Hayfield illegally made kids immediately eligible, did no investigation to check them, and arrogantly displayed it for everyone to see. Once they complaining got too loud to ignore the county stepped in and tried to cover it up so they didn’t have to punish a black principal and coach publicly. THIS IS WHY THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION AND REPORT NOW. The public wants to know if we can trust our school district leaders to make sound and ethical decisions. The report will be embarrassing for Dr. Reid. It will say that she knew about and was told by her investigators that Hayfield was breaking rules and chose to support them anyway. Not sure if it’s fireable, but damn sure it’s embarrassing and unethical.
