Excuse me, above should obviously say minority leader - even though I am convinced that the Americans who support the brutality we can witness every moment of every hour are a small minority of the population.

I like the idea to repeat out loud what they tell you to to:
“Step back”
Reply “I’m stepping back, I’m stepping back” so it’s recorded on their body cams in case of issue.

Not a concern if you don't confront anyone. Threading a needle because you're trying to ensure your personal immunity from the consequences of your conduct means there's a problem with your conduct. If you MYOB, you'll not have consequences to deal with.

Secret police abducting people regardless of immigration status and shooting U.S. citizens is every American’s business.

Indeed.

It’s going to get worse as it all falls apart, but Americans will still stand up against fascism.

We need to.

We have nothing else. OP again here. Our majority leader does not respect the concept of sanctuary laws and attributed Renee Good’s shooting to a lack of cooperation between local LEO and ICE.

We only have each other. Elizabeth Warren was in color coordination with Schumer and silent beside him when he made his comment regarding ICE. The shock of this is still a slow rolling feeling inside of me. They are afraid and corrupt and absolutely will not fight for their constituents. As radical as it sounds to some, they are to me obviously happy to be controlled opposition. They will still retain their lifestyles. They will still retain their titles. They won’t be beaten, jailed, slaughtered. They are fine with any citizen, any legal resident, any fellow human, suffering, if they can each pretend it’s 1999 in perpetuity and that rules apply.

Please watch.

A friend of mine in Boston goes to stand in front of the ICE detention center with a sign protesting the detention of innocent people. She gathers a few others for safety. She says she sees people arrive in their underwear, pajamas--and it's 18 degrees out. It's horrific. And some, of course, are U.S. citizens are some are children.
It means something to the people who see her to know that their treatment is being protested. It is not American. Biden, Obama, Clinton, etc. targeted those with criminal records, and they could contact their families and in some cases, lawyers.

I do think it's wise to wear a hat and sunglasses, and maybe a face mask at protests. Cover up anything that could identify you, ie cover up your backpack and wear nondescript clothing. Do not let them use AI and face recognition to find out the names of all the protesters.

Help us know what an ICE stop look like since ICE isn’t wearing identifying clothing. How do you distinguish an ICE stop from other kinds of stops (eg, drugs) by LE.

Well, the ICE stops I have been involved in involve several Park Police stopping cars on the Clara Barton. Standing behind them are like 10-20 masked menacing looking ICE people waiting for the Park Police to stop someone - they look for ‘commercial vehicles’ which technically are not supposed to be on that road - ie landscapers, other contractors. Then they pull them over and I guess take them away. I usually just keep driving and try to take a photo discretely. That’s been my experience. It’s scary.

Hmm. That doesn’t really seem helpful. I’ve seen those kinds of stops pre-Trump. No way to know for certain that’s an ICE stop.

I sometimes see 4-6 cars for traffic violations once a car is pulled over on secondary roads.

Well, it’s true that as you approach the road checkpoint you might just assume it’s some sort of routine police activity or construction stop or who knows what. But as you get closer you start to see a large number of masked people lurking about. That’s when you know it’s an ICE checkpoint. I have never seen masked law enforcement before.

I would personally just leave the area.

I have a family. I have and a clean criminal record. Neither is worth risking putting my safety in jeopardy, especially since it won’t make any difference anyway.

This is the wisest approach here.

Only if you're a coward. If you aren't willing to stand up for what is right then you are nothing more than a useless pile of MAGA excrement.

Yeah, I really can’t agree with you PP. I don’t want to be a fighter and think violence just begets more violence. Things are turning violent and I can never agree that violence is an answer.

OP I completely agree with you as we are at a loss as to what we can do. As a family, we are cutting back spending. I write letters to my representatives, but that doesn’t really help.

Please call your reps instead. I used to work as a staffer. Calls carry more weight and take less time.

Your Democrat reps WANT chaos & carnage…anything to try to make Trump look bad.

If they wanted safety & order, they’d demand that police cooperate with ICE & turn over illegal aliens so ICE wouldn’t have to go into neighborhoods to get the people to deport.

I agree that local police should turn over criminals to ICE when they have them in custody, but are you suggesting that local police go hunting for otherwise law-abiding undocumented migrants in their neighborhoods and then turn them over to ICE?
For now IVE is focused on criminals and those with final removal orders(more than two million people). When ICE goes into neighborhoods to pick up these people, they often find others alongside, and will detain and deport these people as well.
Democrat run areas will not hand over to ICE people in their jails.

Well these untrained dummies and the ICE Barbie leader are doing a pretty bad job convincing the American people that this is the case.

Probably because it isn't.

The midterm elections - vote, encourage friends to vote, call your local representatives about voting fairness.

OP. This was a very good article, thanks. I bet there are groups everywhere supporting families trying to get access to loved ones in ICE facilities, and supporting them is very important (NJ group gives family economic support when called for, facilitates visits, and does so as a Catholic, religious, org)
