T25, plus USC, NYU Stern, Gatech, Williams, Amherst, UVa McIntire, UT McCombs, Instate public otherwise.

I have no idea about prestige in social circles (who cares), but my Tulane DC got a ton of interviews for summer internships while in school based solely on the name of school and alum connections. It has a really good reputation in NYC finance/marketing/PR. So I think you have no idea what you are talking about. Graduated within the last 2 years and currently working in NYC post-grad with so many other Tulane kids. Employers do like Tulane grads. Generally, they are smart and socially adept.


First I agree that these are all good schools. Second, i think most disagreement comes from the changes with time. 20 years ago, Tulane was among top universities but the ranking declined now. Similarly, WashU and Emory used to be in top 10 in 1990 and now after 20th. The opposite examples are USC and Northeastern. 20-30 years ago, there was no way to put them along with elite schools, but now you see how hard to get in. Things are changing except for HYPM. So for school out of HYPM, it’s more important to see what you want and what it offers instead of comparing prestige.

Both were T10 for only 1 year. And I wouldn’t think thats an appropriate ranking for either of them.

Lots of better options Vandy, ND, Georgetown, Emory, USC, 20 SLACs, and a dozen state flagships are some. Loads of full pay families opting out of Wake/BC overpriced for likes of Ohio State, UGa, UFlorida, Wisconsin. No discernible difference in job outcomes at a big price difference from BC and Wake. Certainly better sports.

Every job interview I went to in my 20s and most people I met that heard that I was a Wake alum all commented on how it's a really good school and I must be really smart. It's not MIT, but I wasn't planning a tech career. When I was there, at least 1/3 of the entering freshman came in pre-med.

Which employers and social circles is that poster even referring to?


the trolling on here is embarassing. most have not heard of wake let alone think it is a great school.


It was/is well known in DC. I don’t care if someone in OK knows where it is as I wasn’t applying for jobs there.

It depends on your field how much weight people put on such things. Pretty sure it at least got me in the door in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Any good hiring manager knows at least the top100 schools if not more.

Undesirable with almost 40k in applications? Emory makes ABC nightly news with common announcements to financial aid. Only elite schools are capable of that.


it’s a back up to a backup. overall yield is an absurd 38% even with ed and oxford campus gaming of stats. Really pathetic

So to get this straight, everyone applies ED because it's so hard to get in RD. Tufts gooses their numbers by using ED extensively. Tufts is not a popular first choice, though.

I guess I don't follow the logic. (Alabama-bound?)
