We use all these resources to blow a ship up that far away, but then cut deals the Mexican cartel peeps by giving them refuse in the US. Or Trump pardoning the Silk Road dude. Citation where they were innocent people? I haven't seen anything to that effect in the media. Lots of speculation, but the circumstantial evidence indicates there were not so innocent. This occurred in international waters, so no U.S. Constitutional rights attached. Venezuela is free to lodge a protest to the UN if it wishes to do so.

And if they are smuggling people, The coast of Venezuelan is 1400 miles to the US. How would one speedboat make that trip without many many refueling stops.
