This wasn't in Hicksville. It was a streetcar town 2 miles from city limits of a big US city (small town suburb).


Hicksville is in Nassau County, Long Island and is a suburb of NYC. It’s not a one-horse town.

100% honest all the time.

I would be a trash person in the eyes of my spouse, my kids, my parents, my family, friends & acquaintances and myself if I was not honest.

Don't want to accumulate bad karma and sin

100% believe that one day stores will be able to catch such wrong doings and people will lose face, reputation, jobs, money and freedom.

I missed scanning a $2 bottled drink on one occasion and admit I did not go back in to pay for it because the store was crowded and I needed to move on with my day. Im sure Ive been overcharged $2.00 at the same store at some point.


I've accidentally missed scanning something. I just scanned the same bottle twice the next time I was there, so I paid for an extra. I didn't go all the way back to the store the same day.

+1 that is not what teacher pet means. That use suggests that only the teacher's pet is honest and all the other kids are cheating. OP, most of us are NOT cheating.

Yes, of course I scan everything. Most people aren't looking for opportunities to steal.

There's been mistakes of course, but nothing intentional. Clerks also make mistakes. But no, it is nita system for stealing.

I missed scanning a $2 bottled drink on one occasion and admit I did not go back in to pay for it because the store was crowded and I needed to move on with my day. Im sure Ive been overcharged $2.00 at the same store at some point.
