I think this is great.
I frequently go to DC in the evenings, and I am thrilled about this. Lots of areas have felt unsafe, and many friends have been ruffed up near the Stadiums.
Well that seems insane to me. Why would you repeatedly go to a place where you feel unsafe? Especially since you dont live in DC?

You’re trying so hard sweetie. Bless your heart.
Any time someone uses that phrase you can almost be certain that they are chain smoking menthols in their night gown in the afternoon.
Isn’t it about time to get your warsh off the clothes lines, meemaw?

It's not. That's what you are missing.
It is!! I’ve lived downtown for 30 years and we lost all enforcement and reporting after defund the police and all the buildings in the area have had to self police. Not admitting the problem is how we ended up with this tyrant.
The MAGA republicans just defunded MPD earlier this year. Doesn’t anyone read the news?
The police budget was never defunded. It actually increased a bit. But as pp says, the white house just took a 20% hack to security funding.
These are probable facts, not vibes.
Can’t help lying… Here are the FACTS. But, sure show me your receipts.
“…reverting to the last year’s budget levels would force D.C. to cut 16% out of what it is currently spending. Per initial estimates from the council, D.C.’s public and charter schools would have to quickly trim some $350 million from their budgets, while the Metropolitan Police Department would have to cut $67 million. D.C. Fire & EMS would need to slash $42 million in spending, while the Department of Human Services – which handles homelessness and other social services – would be on the hook for $28 million in cuts.”

Did you think that the many of us who voted for him were kidding?
Because he's targeting only the blue cities with majority black and/or Hispanic people. Not the Republican run cities with even worse crime rates. That's pretty bad even by Trump standards.
None of the cities that you mention are Republican led, even if they are in red states.
That's the point, he isn't attacking any cities in red states because he doesn't want to do anything to disturb the Republican electoral map. Because Republicans are for strong local governments, unless the local government is full of Democrats and then their authoritarian tendencies take over.
