And what about afterwards? I had a retained placenta with post partum hemorrhage following my second delivery- no known risk factors. I'm sure glad I was already at the hospital!

This thread is full of blind trust in medical establishment.

Go check out the organ donation horror show in the health forum.

The ignorance on this thread is astounding. The United States has the highest rate of hospital births in the world. It also has the highest rate of infant mortality of any developed nation in the world. Statistically, you’re more likely to have a good outcome at home.

After you’ve bled out in your bed, it’s a bad time to realize you, in fact, did NOT have a good midwife.

OP, if she lives within 10 minutes of a hospital, she can lose consciousness and at some point someone can call 911 for her.

It’s legal to have a home birth. What do you think the police will do, arrest her? Is a back of a police car birth somehow preferable?

It's not when you're using an unqualified midwife and she's also deliberately endangering a child
And if something is going wrong they can get them to a hospital more quickly

You get the idiot of the day award! Congrats!🎉

Granted, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology recommends all births happen in a hospital or a birth center, I think some might be interested in reading their official (supportive!) statement on using midwives and supporting midwives working at the top of their education and training and recommending that state laws allow them to and hospitals have appropriate systems for transfers. (Most transfers from planned home birth to hospital are NOT “train wrecks” but for for fatigue and desire of an epidural.)

Meh, OP’s sister will never get cancer, she is too smart. She has done her own research, eat the right food, avoid all toxic substances, cleanse, find balance between her soul and good spiritual waves and will forever be immune. Cancer is for stupid people

/s just in case
