Current or former teacher is not a good qualifier. Natalie Zimmerman is a current teacher and she was supposed to bring that perspective to the board but she does nothing but smile and giggle.
She's a former teacher now.

In that scenario, not voting is in effect a vote for the MAGA candidate.
I think things are so broken at this point that it is worth the risk.
If I have to I'd vote for a republican depending on their character and values over an incumbent. I will not vote for any incumbets right now.
At this point, Grace is the only incumbent running, and she has no opposition.

MCEA owes the public an apology for putting up Natalie Zimmerman. She is an absolute waste of space.
She's ok but she's not strong enough to stand up to them and reality is standing up to them does no good. Its impossible to know whow someone will do until they get into the position but she got out the former BOE memebers which was more important.
She is not ok. She is absolutely useless. -DP

The fact that she's the best on the BOE says a lot about the BOE. I think Julie is going to have a hard time winning her council seat.
Why do you think this? People seem to respect her.
Who respects her? She has failed on so many levels. For some of us, it has directly impacted our kids.
Julie used to be decent and respectable as a BOE member. As Board president she has been an absolute disappointment.
Her leadership is abysmal.
She cares more about timekeeping than she does about getting answers to important questions.
She is rude and dismissive to Rita Montoya and Laura Stewart, who are the only two asking any questions.
I don't know what happens to people who run for the board once they are elected but they change. They get sucked into the groupthink of everyone needing to agree on everything, they get so cautious about saying something wrong, they don't say anything publicly, and promises of accountability evaporate.
Yes. I've only watched 1 or 2 BOE meetings, but I definitely saw this.
she only does this to montoya and stewart. She doesnt seem to care about time when its anyone else
I think Julie is kind of an efficient, no nonsense person by nature, but it comes across terribly. Her and Rita bickering yesterday was so unbecoming (frankly of both of them).
