For class of 2029 Holy Cross acceptance rate is 16% while Villanova is 27.4%.Yields for HC over 50% Villanova less than 33%.

The nova grad I know best is hardcore Maga. all in on mass deportation and the new pope has pushed back hard against the way immigrants are being treated by Maga.

I think the Georgetown students use the city like other city schools. Campus is beautiful. Yes it is secular and I have heard complaints there but maybe more parents than kids.

The person saying that Holy Cross is better than Villanova isn't up to date on the college landscape. Things are much different now than they were in 1980's and 1990's.

Citing the career of Clarance Thomas, who is 76, isn't very relevant to the conversation. In law, where you got your undergraduate degree is irrelevant especially when you went to Yale Law School.

Villanova will never be a top school because it doesn't do research. They get almost $0 grant dollars and train very few PhDs, no MDs, no Pharma Ds, etc. Villanova does not produce large amounts of publications in top journals. All of that is fine, Villanova is a small school dedicated to undergrads and a few professional degree programs. It will never be top tier until it does ground breaking research. It won't.

Villanova is a mediocre school. It's fine if you want to use it as launching pad for a better grad school, but there are far cheaper and better options at state schools.

How does anyone know what Villanova thinks of their new Pope. Sure all Wildcats are proud of their grad being named Pope but basketball success drives applications at a school like Nova. In 2025 US new had Villanova ranked in the mid 50’s way behind ND, HC, and Georgetown.
