Singles are still basically unavailable to anyone who doesn't have accomodations. At least for my child and their friends, a nicer dorm still doesn't make up for privacy and independence.
I lived on campus at W&M for all four years. Roommates and most comprehensive meal plan all the way through. It was fantastic!
