That isn’t what happened if you actually read the complaint. She didn’t hide anyone. So as to not disrupt her courtroom, which she has full purview over, she had the defendant go through a side door to the hallway. ICE could have taken him in the hall- they admitted seeing him there, but didn’t, opting to make this move to arrest the judge. It is all a show and highly dangerous for our republic.

She bypassed the public area by taking him out a restricted jury’s door.

ICE literally saw him in the hall, likely waiting for the elevator and chose not to apprehend him. He was in public eye for plenty to of time to do so. The allegation that she hid him or bypassed anything is specious at best.

Not only did they see him in the hall, they rode down the elevator with him! The entire alleged "crime" was allowing the guy to go out a side door instead of the main door.

Where is your citation for this information?

From what I heard, there was another ICE agent present whom the judge was unaware was there, saw what was going on when the judge left the courtroom, informed the ICE agents whom the judge directed to talk to the chief judge, and the ICE agents then had a foot race with the illegal alien in order to arrest him.

It is in the complaint. There apparently was a footchase, but it is clear there were multiple opportunities to arrest him well before that because he literally rode down the elevator and then walked out of the courthouse standing next to one of the DEA agents.

"At approximately 8:50 a.m., DEA Agent A alerted other members of the arrest team that DEA Agent A was on the elevator with
Flores-Ruiz."

So what?

So there's no actual crime here. She let the guy exit from a side door. That's it. She didn't "hide" him or "sneak him out" or anything. The guy went out a side door of the courtroom and then into the public hall where they could have arrested him at any time, but for whatever reason decided to follow him outside until he started running and they had to chase him.

So she abetted instead of informing him to wait for the agents.

OMG. Trump has broken your brains.

*Shrieks for weeks about Due Process and the rule of law*

*proceeds to rationalize a judge breaking the law because it might have been a disturbance to otherwise enforce the law.*

No, we are defending the gd Constitution that affords DUE PROCESS to all.

I think he should be deported and I hope he is again. But it needs done the legal way. JFC, how do you not understand the difference?

if you're fine with no due process for the brown illegals, then I hope you'll be ok with no due process when it is your turn to be rounded up.

This is insane. Other than ensuring he the correct person what process is due? So if someone makes their way into our country we cannot make them leave without a time and resources consuming hearing? What about visa overstays? Hearings for them? There would be no reason to have a border or a nation-state

You are arresting and sending Americans citizens to prisons in El Salvador. If you do not believe in the constitution denounce your citizens and move to Russia, North Korea or Israel.

You can't barge in to a judge's courtroom. Wait outside. It's not hard.

Arresting judges on fake charges that will get tossed is not the way to remove illegal immigrants. I can't see why you think it would be.

Could a judge be arrested for DUI? Or assault? Or tax evasion?

If yes, then aren’t those also authoritarianism, too?

Democrats are getting too far out over their skis here on this stuff.

Yes, a judge can be arrested for breaking the law or driving under the influence. That isn't what happened here.

Oh and guess what, Trump is now immune from everything. Is that a correct judgement?

That's what I'm getting from pp's post. Trump is above the law. Anyone he disagrees with can be arrested for anything.

Ok, so you are not getting it. She was arrested for adjudicating a case. Not hiding someone in her basement.

Oh, I “GET” exactly what happened here. A sitting judge assisted a person subject to compliance with a lawful order and helped that person evade custody.

If you or I did such a thing for a person subject to an order from the judge, this same judge would lock us up for it.

This is what I meant about getting too far out over our skis. Stuff like this is HORRIBLE for making claims of authoritarianism, because as soon as you look into it beyond a headline, it falls apart. Then Dems look like the boy who cried wolf.

DP. No. ICE did not have an arrest warrant from a judge. They just had an administrative warrant similar to a subpoena. They can wait outside like everyone else, and the judge does not have to allow them entry.

Arresting immigrants at courthouses is bad policy, as most everyone already knows. Trump doesn't care about policy because he doesn't think long term, when something goes wrong he blames someone else and quits/declares bankruptcy/sure. That's not working well for him in negotiating peace or in these taritf "negotiations" and it won't go well for him here.

To everyone else reading this who is NOT an officer of the court, it comes off as a judge holding the front door shut while allowing a criminal to escape custody out the back door. Because that’s exactly what it is.

This is exactly the stuff Dems shouldn’t be citing, because it’s a sham. People see right through it, and it gives credibility to R’s when they levy accusations against Dems that Dems support illegal immigration.

Why give them useful weapons to use against us?

The whole thing was a set up and the judge wanted no part of it on either side. Patel's tweet that he deleted confirms the same.

This post? That is right there on his timeline?

So, this illegal alien was being tried for domestic assault. The two victims who he beat up - violently - were in the court room ready to testify. When the judge found out that ICE was present she became furious, took the illegal alien out and escorted him out through the private jury door. ICE chased him down and arrested him.

This is a man who had been previously deported, BTW. And, entered illegally again.

Why are democrats so eager to protect and support illegal alien criminals?

WTF. Democrats - these are not the people we should be riding for.

We aren't riding for the people. We are riding for the process.

I'm all for deporting illegal criminals. I am not all for doing so illegally and without due process.

It's a slippery slope and if you don't see that, then I'm sorry. Doing so without due process is how Garcia ended up in Venezuela. Doing so without due process is how someone with brown skin and the name Rodriguez who was born in the US could mistakenly get rounded up and sent to another country. Due process for all or due process for none. And I don't think you want NO due process in the US.

Sure they did, it was dated 17 April and is in the court documents.

They had an administrative warrant. That is what is stated by the affiant in the probable cause affidavit. That is different that a judicial warrant. The latter may be executed wherever (consistently with any other legal or constitutional restraints - though those don't exist under Trump). The former are merely investigatory. In the nature of a subpoena. You can't serve those anywhere you want.

Parts of LoCo have really gone down hill.

It's quite surprising with who we have as our Sheriff, that's for sure. When ICE raids were announced, I thought for sure that Loudoun would be a big target and Chapman would be on board to assist since he's such a big Trump 'yes man'. However, I've seen very little about ICE raids or arrests in my part of Loudoun. All the usual areas where the undocumented hung out for jobs are still heavily populated with them.
