That is bizarre and frankly, not smart? People try door handles to rummage through cars. You must be rich to be so cavalier with large amounts of money.

I’ve had cash there for years, never had it stolen. Lock your car and the door handles don’t work.

It's a weird combination to have in a purse, but there's nothing that can really be done with it.

3K is a lot but not enough to do something truly nefarious. Also, she recently went through a state audit - so maybe she buys personal luxuries (e.g. a glass of wine with a business dinner) in cash.

The blank checks are odd, but my mom carries a checkbook.

Having a passport in a purse is a little odd- can't quite figure that out unless she's using it for ID or imagines she will get last minute orders to fly out of the country.

It's more like clueless and reckless- there are items in one bag that should be secured in a safe or at home. Not gathered together in one place.

It's pretty common for blue collar business owners to walk around with a wad of cash. TBH, I think it's cultural - they think of themselves as a BSD, like to play tax games, and never know when they need to dole out some cash for a sub-contractor, a corrupt inspector, or a cop. It's a small town mindset.

In big cities, it's weird to carry a big wad of cash unless you're a drug dealer or an immigrant working under the table.

The only people I know that are cash-heavy are the elderly, the criminals (no trace), and one lovely person who born/raised in another country and came here after marrying USA citizen. She can’t get a credit card. She can’t use Venmo, Zelle. She pays staff with cash but gets a lot of negative feedback about it, because there’s no receipts or trace.
So why on earth is Dog-murderer carrying not just cash, but HUGE amount of cash? Paid off for something illegal, about to pay someone else off for something illegal….those are literally the only things I can think of.

How do you know it was the main event of their day? They could have had a big Easter brunch/lunch (which is what a lot of families do) and this was a more casual end-of-day/get-out-of-the-house meal.

My guess is that she treats her purse as a “go-bag” for overseas traveling. Everything matches for that description.

No, I just sometimes do business with people who prefer cash. They are legitimate businesses (think landscaping, hiring party bus, cleaning services, etc). I don't know if they are legitimate tax filers, but they are legitimate businesses. Also, if I'm going to an estate sale or something similar, I will bring several thousand dollars because cash is king if you have to compete with another buyer. I'm a millennial.

Lol. Ok, yes. All of those things are legitimate reasons to have cash. No e of those things are happening on Easter.

Also, a high-level government official should be very careful about paying their personal contractors in cash if they aren’t so sure if they are legitimate tax filers.

In addition to walking around with $3k in cash, are you also so cavalier with your passport, meds, and blank checks? If so, you too can be secretary of DHS.

Carrying medication seems like a good idea if you have a variable schedule.
