All true but you have to admit this circumstance is an unnecessary consequence of having two awful presidents with ridiculously conflicting protocols in dealing with undocumented immigrants. None of this is necessary. This is all a product of crappy leadership at the top.
We're better than this.
Or, she could have obeyed the order to get out of the vehicle. She certainly didn’t make it better for herself.
I would have and you probably would have as well but if we didn't have legal residency in the US, we'd probably be reluctant to obey such an order from the Federal Police as well. I have empathy for my fellow human beings in that situation. It's an unnecessary situation caused by ugly politics and dysfunctional government.
No it’s caused by being in another country illegally. If she didn’t do that, she’s not in this "situation". Her choices caused this.
It's called empathy. You should try it. These are mostly good people seeking a better life and more opportunity for themselves and their families. They are caught up in the political games of our awful leaders.
No, it's not political games; it's reality that you can't just enter a country illegally, live there without permission, and ignore authority figures. There are desperate people all over the world. They cannot all move here.

It's because people have been allowed to openly violate our laws for the past twenty-five years. Trump ran on enforcing immigration laws and that is a big part of why he won.
Pros and cons to freedom. I’d rather people overstay their visa than live in a police state.
I'd rather live where people know better than to break laws. Law-abiding, hardworking citizens who don't break laws will be fine.
They don’t come here to sit on their asses, they come here to do the jobs Americans won’t do. Don’t want them here? Pick up a toilet brush and work for $2/hr.
And for the millionth time, the crime rate among immigrants is extremely low - stop pushing the lie that they’re all criminals
For the millionth time, let them come here legally.

I can't believe it. Watch the video. It's heartbreaking. Horrifying.
I don't speak much Spanish, but it appears they didn't have a judicial warrant.
OMG. This is our country????
I'm sure you'd all be cheering if it were a grandma who had walked into the Capitol Building being terrorized by the FBI.
She refused to obey the orders of law enforcement and found out. When law enforcement tells you to get out of the car, there is no Constitutional right to refuse to obey them and sit in your car thinking your magic window shields you from following the instructions of law enforcement. She found out.

It doesn’t matter if it’s ICE or you’re being pulled over for speeding. if the officer says to get out, and you fail to comply, they can force you out and you can get arrested. Having two awful presidents doesn’t matter. This was true before those presidents took office.
You can go down a black hole on YouTube or TikTok watching police body cam footage of people getting arrested for these very things, and they have nothing to do with ICE. People being pulled over for speeding, for running stop lights, for bad tags, and other traffic violations. Things escalate when the person refuses to show their license or respond to questions or to get out of the car. FAFO.
