The players came from all over the country to play on this team. So they have a free weekend.

Right. I have no idea where the players they had came from specifically, but as good a tourney as Jeff Cup is, it’s almost entirely East Coast and some Midwest. Even East Coast the presence is fairly minimal north of NJ.

There’s virtually nobody from CA, TX and other spots.

Which makes a lot of sense because the team in question is 2015! Flying around the country at 2015 for soccer is insanity.
worried about what other do with their money & time is one of your many problems in life. Blame your boss for not paying you more & giving you more time off work

ok, SYC mom
ok, Arlington dad. Your wife is begging you to get off the forum & take her on a meaningful date.

Also wants you to stop screaming at little Cindy on the ride home after she doesn’t score a hat trick & get the super team invite.

The doctor also wants you to come in for your biweekly checkup. U10 soccer has your blood boiling & worried about what other do with their time & money. Loser

Everyone knows SYC parents are the cray ones, honey. SYC are the ones flying around the country at U10 (supercopa anyone)? Why you flying around the country at U10 only to get humbled at U13? Slow clap.

SYCs U10s are #1 in the state. Jealous much?

yeah, we're all jealous of your u10 soccer team

SYC’s mom is as crazy as Arlington’s dad. For some reason, the 2015 age group seems to have the craziest parents in almost every club.

As a parent in another sport who accidentally clicked on this forum but stayed for the fun, I can concur that the 2015 crazy parents phenomenon is not restricted to soccer.

It's always that way with the younger ages. Everyone thinks they have the next Messi. By the time kids get to high school reality sets in and the insanity mellows. I was at a futsal tournament recently and U14 and up games were sparsely attended while absolute chaos was happening with U8/U9/U10.

It is good to hear that maybe this will die down at older ages. Between this Ballers Elite mess and how apparently being as young as a U7 soccer instagrammer is now a thing, youth soccer seems to have fallen off a cliff.

All over the country? for a tournament in Richmond?? LOL come on. You can't seriously believe that. Maybe all over the Mid Atlantic like every other team in the tournament but not the country. I am sure the can play in a tournament in Cali, AZ or TX before coming to Richmond.

I was doubtful of this myself, so I took 20 minutes to figure out where these Ballers Elite kids were from. Looks like 6 are from California, one is from Texas, one is from Utah, one is from Kansas, one is from Ohio, and one is from NJ. There is at least one kid on the roster from Florida who wasn't there. From what I could tell, there may be only two who play on the same California club. Everyone else seems to be on different teams, mostly 2014G and even 2014B but also 2015G for a couple CA kids. This was all pretty easy to find because they are all heavily promoted on instagram by mom, dad, whoever. Having older ECNL kids, I have to say I don't think I've seen this kind of thing allowed at Jeff Cup before but I could be wrong. I am not sure how being in that flight benefited them at all, but it is clearly getting them attention! So maybe that was the point.

What's crazier, a super team or a grown adult stalking kid on the internet to see what club they came from, do they train together, etc....

Sure, it was silly to take the time to see where they came from. I have no doubt other people will have the same reaction as you and that's fine. But the other poster had a legitimate argument and I agreed with them that I couldn't imagine that kids who didn't even play together on the West Coast would bother banding together for Jeff Cup. I appear to have been wrong. It doesn't exactly take stalking when their public instagrams are promoted right and left from the Ballers Elite account. But you're correct, this is 20 minutes of my life I can't get back and honestly found depressing. Like I said, my girls are older and I thankfully didn't see anything like this when they were U10. I guess the spirit of club youth soccer has changed a lot, and I'm not sure it's for the better.

Dont worry, they did it for you in their story, identified the states and posted all the children's instagrams as well. Yes. Children.

This seems directed at a very specific person
Any specific type of person who is slandering parents for giving their kid the opportunity to play with other great players in the top flight @ one of the “best tournaments in the country”

No one is flying across the country to play in a top flight division & thinking they’ll win 18-0, 14-0, 7-0. Parents with good kids would’ve just stayed home & trained before they did that

The real crime here is clubs making Ron from club xyz thousands of dollars every year to train & play all year around as a TEAM just to not be able to compete against a group of kids who barely know each others names.

Be mad at who your paying to develop your kid & yourself for not providing outside opportunities & experiences that your kid will remember

You really don't get it. Numerous kids on the Ballers Elite team are homeschooled for the purpose of training most of the day in order to reach the NWSL by 14-16. The ones who are not play on boys' teams or 2014 teams. Most of them have met before through the Eddie Johnson Lab Cult, so they do know each other's names. The majority of 9-year-olds on the U10 teams that played against Ballers Elite this weekend train well and have plenty of talent, but maybe their parents are still emphasizing education at this age. Even if you have not encountered the Ballers Elite families in the past, which I have, all you have to do is review the social media accounts of the players to see where the priorities lie and that your interpretation above is way off base. Also, they knew they would win by very large margins and still flew from California, Texas, the Midwest, and all over to get more social media footage and recognition. It is what it is. They've put it all out there and it is plain as day they are good with "flying across the country to play in a top flight division & thinking they’ll win 18-0, 14-0, 7-0." And no rational soccer parent on this forum is sitting here envious of those kids. I feel sorry for them.

Looking at the scores, this “elite” team could only muster 7-0 against a local DMV team that couldn’t even win their bracket in Arlington last week. Maybe not so elite?

Nah, that Bethesda team is nothing to laugh at. I’m a parent at another DMV club that has seen those girls before and caught some of their games at Jeff Cup. They are really talented. The ASIST tournament result was weird, because they should have crushed both teams in their bracket. Every team can have an off day though. For example, the 2012s aren’t the best Bethesda year but I did not see that 10-0 loss coming. I agree with you that Ballers Elite isn’t actually made of all the most elite 2015 girls but maybe the most promoted on social media. Some looked crazy good but I have to believe there are tons of 2015 “elite” girls with very bright futures whose parents also want to protect their privacy while they’re young and don’t want to guest play all over the US yet.

Slow clap.
& everyone knows Arlington parents are the miserable ones. Mad about people spending their time & money how they want to

Worried about little Bobby @ SYC living his best life flying to supercopa @ u10. Need to worry about your failing marriage
