What a bunch of clowns you guys are
Ah, the approach of a Capital parent here. Entitlement allows you to call names without actually defending a position. Your one-line blasts run throughout this discussion. And yet, you still add nothing to the discussion.

IMHO, some of the players are on that list are just not talented enough to have that good a tryout. Knowing I know now, should I suspect them of cheating? This very bad decision by someone was not fair to anyone.
There’s always upsets and surprises when it comes to these selections. Sadly that’s just the reality.
And apparently there is also cheating in this case, which I did not know until today.
What do you mean by cheating? How exactly do you cheat your way through a tryout? You either play well or you don’t, the evaluators notice you or they don’t, or the evaluators are just completely off base with certain players. Which is it?
Some girls are invited regardless of whether they have a good tryout because the evaluators know the or of them. They put in a good word or try to influence final roster choices beyond the rating the players get that day. It’s not based on the sole tryout. There are biases built in.
I understand your point, but I still don’t see that as cheating. The onus falls on AS to keep things honest and fair. If the organization is extending offers to players who missed tryouts, and cut players who supposedly had a great tryout, then AS is corrupt. To expect the players who missed tryouts to have the integrity to turn down an offer is unrealistic. I bet you anything the parents worked behind the scenes to get their daughter on the team anyways.

Due to injuries. Both of them played on Team DC/VA in the past and both deserve to be on the team.
Any player accepting a spot with no tryout should be ashamed. Someone please tell me this did not actually happen.
Ha! Comedian over here…
I’m sorry, there is shame earned on this one. Two girls did not receive offers because two players who did not earn them felt entitled? This is a stain on the parents and the organization. So embarrassing.
There is no shame, and casting it at teenagers is not a good look.
My DD was physically there, tried out, made it, so this isn’t personal.
If she had been injured or had some type of family emergency issue, however, I would definitely have considered sending in film and applying. For Sophomore’s in particular, missing because of an injury is a really tough thing. Film evaluation is legitimate if done by the same evaluators.
Spare me the pearl clutching, you parent who would demand special treatment because you or your daughter is so self important.

I know a girl who, by all accounts, had a great tryout and did not get offer. To think that spot was just handed to someone unearned is very disappointing to me. I knew it was rigged in a way, but this is next level.
