This. I am from Europe, my parents and siblings live there. USA is still the best place to live and work. Europe is not the same what it used to be 20+ years ago. There are no jobs in Europe, people are not as open as people in USA, it's a different vibe over there. Europe is great for vacation, but working there is a different story.

I'm in a group for doctors who are working on leaving the US. The moderator mentioned today that 3000 new people have joined it since the election.

We really need more doctors in Canada. You won't make as much money, but you'll make more than enough, and you can be proud to practice here.

I wouldn’t be so sure. I could see that there could an outflow of “refugees” from the US. People that are being discriminated against or oppressed, possibly threatened.

The thing is, there is going to be brain drain from red states to blue states, and blues states internationally. I think that a lot of countries would be more than willing. It’s not like we are trying to ship Trump voters over there

That's because states like Texas touted places like Austin ( a little spot of blue) . With Trump 2.0 only the delusional are thinking they are going to be okay in a red state.

Obstetricians are not used that much in Europe. Many women use midwives I had a midwife birth in the UK and it was the best and safest of my three deliveries.

This is BS. There might be some crunchy people there too (particularly in the UK) but everyone else goes to the hospital. I am from Europe and my entire extended family is there and all the friends i made before moving here at 30yr old. Not one person i know gave birth outside of a hospital. I have one friend who had the first kid in a warm pool (but still inside a hospital and with sn obgyn) and another did three vaginal births refusing pain medications, also in hospital with obgyn. I dont know anybody even acquaintances who just used midwives so it is certainly not widespread

We are actively working on getting a UK ancestry visa and purging belongings that would make packing things up difficult.

We are tech and not medical but the lower salaries are not going to stop us if we feel the country is collapsing.

The British monarchy is at least simply a figure head. In 2016, my family joked we were going to Canada and then just got back to work and reality. This time, we aren’t joking about leaving anymore and trying to figure it out.

I would probably say trans people and liberal politicians, journalists, staffers, and any other type of opposition.
