And we are already swamped. But I question the prevailing sentiment that “barely anyone will take this.” At least in my division, that is not true.
There is no offer. The whole thing is made up and will not and cannot happen.
Why are you so passionately against it? What proof do you have that it is a scam? I am not taking it but I don’t see the issues you seem to see.
you do you.

Of course you're going to take the deferred resignation. It's 8 months of pay for doing nothing, and at the end of it, it's doubtful that you'll have difficulty finding a new job.
I think lots of the folks on here are very senior and/or in specialized roles where it makes no sense to take the deferred resignation. But try to put yourselves in the shoes of younger people in less specialized areas.
And what would that person do for health insurance? The 25 yo paralegal in your example cannot be on his parents's health insurance past his 26th birthday. Buying insurance from the marketplace is expensive.

We know that Elon, we already read all your threatening emails. Unless you have any new scoops, go relax on your new sofa bed.
Anonymous wrote:Now we may find one thing that I agree with Elon on. If you are dumb enough to take an ambiguous offer with no fixed terms and conditions that people have repeatedly told you is not legal, then maybe we should shed those people from the government because they are not the best and brightest and have really poor judgment.
