You research every company you buy something from?
It’s a purchase not a political declaration. For any sane and rational person.
DP Honey, this is a capitalist society with no limit on greed. The most powerful tool you have is your wallet. If you want to support a-holes and bullies, that’s your choice. I choose to support companies with a conscience and values that didn’t make me feel sick.
You do you but your $100 purchase doesn’t mean jack $hit to these companies. Virtue signal away.
It means something if we ban together. The Montgomery bus boycott worked because everyone did it.
Good luck with that. Never gonna happen.
Exactly. I was at Target on Sunday. Place was absolutely packed. Dig deep enough and you'll find something you don't like about every corp out there. Only solution is to move out to the boonies, grow your own food and buy a sewing machine (not sure where you're going to buy that from, but anyway...). We know none of you are going to keep up this self imposed Target ban. You'll be back in a few weeks. But keep on virtue signaling for fake internet points!
I walked though one that was nearly empty. So maybe you live in a red area.
Well, according to this thread Fairfax is red so... ?

What does this mean in practice?
Is Target anti-…what?
Target isn't anti-anything. EEO is still a law. DEI was never a law, it was an executive order of a former administration
It wasn't just about discrimination. It was about Target looking for more diverse companies which really was helpful.

Helpful how? Why can't they shop for products that their diverse customers appreciate, regardless of who the vendor is?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If target taking away black hair products? Or just firing the DEI executive who didn’t increase profit margin? Bc senior executives who don’t bring a real value will be cut regardless of DEI.
Both. They actually had a program where they sought out suppliers of color which significantly enhanced those products. As a black woman, it was really helpful to have a larger selection of hair care and body products.

Per the article I read, Target will “end a program focused on carrying more products from Black- or minority-owned businesses”
Dang. I really liked this program.
