That's crazy. Their academic index would be in the basement.
They normally want recruited athlete at ivy to have at least a 1350+ SAT score because there is nothing preventing the athlete from dropping out of the team and the chances they have to drop out to study get higher with lower SAT scores.
3.0 and 1100 SAT at ivy? Geez, why would they do that?
This person is a gigantic liar. These type of scores were possible maybe 30 years ago
Also when you’re an athletic recruit you ED to the one school where you commit.
If you are a great athlete - those are fine stats. Most of the rest of the team will maintain the average. Believe me. It's a bell curve.

And they will get in.
It always depends on how good you are. If you're a true 5 star then they'll do whatever they can to get you.
My classmate scored an 750 (total) on the SAT and didn't finish Algebra I. He got a full ride to Berkeley.
Cool you must be old as dirt
If you really believe NDs starting lineup are all taking ap classes and carrying high gpas in HS then you're delusional.
I think some of these parents are out of their minds. They really can’t make the distinction between athletes attending college and college students playing sports.
No they can't.
Truthfully, I think it makes them uncomfortable that the rules get stretched/broken for athletes. People who went to elite institutions don't want to accept it.
You think Allen Iverson had thegrades to go to Georgetown? Lol.
Anonymous wrote:The whole system is ridiculous, and what is more ridiculous is that people support this broken system. You have to play for years just to make it into a high school JV team, and once you make it, you have to spend 20+ hours per week training. It takes time away from academics and other extracurricular.
And all of this time and money invested into sports is for nothing for most parents. Most kids will never play at the NCAA level. It doesn’t matter much for college admissions. I know a kid who has perfect grades and a 35 ACT who was a captain of the varsity football and lacrosse teams (and was class treasurer, NHS president, volunteered, and did part time work), and he got rejected from every remotely selective college. The Ivy Leagues, Notre Dame, Michigan, Duke, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, UNC, and UVA all rejected him

Fake news
Why do you think athletes don't get preferential treatment?
The above person is certainly lying. Tennis is a very small world
You know nothing about tennis. Christian Alshorn, a five star tennis recruit, got accepted to the University of Chicago with a <1200 SAT score, and several Ivies.
So now the story is about Alshorn and not your two unicorn kids
