I just booked a cross country flight for February for work and it’s 1k for one person economy class. When I was 26, there was no way I could afford that.

What do you consider sufficiently “adequate” PTO for OP to be entitled to yearly or more visits?

1-2 weeks sick and Dr visits and other errands
1 week for themselves
1 week for mom

Who takes off 1-2 weeks for sick, Dr visits and other errands? Other than some sick days here and there, the rest you do for an hour during the day or after work.

People who don’t have the luxury of a work from home option- particularly in a day and age where you’re demonized (particularly on dcum) for showing up to work with a cough or a sniffle.

So one week total per year to cover: any desired travel with a significant other, visiting friends or other relatives, attending weddings and related events (which tend to ramp up in your late 20s), and any other desired personal travel, and one week solely obligated to mom…sounds fair.

When they were in college out of state, we traveled to them and got to know their new area. Made memories in their area.

This is us.
This is exactly what we do.
