So what? Issues matter more than nominal party affiliation. Vote for the issues which matter without a knee-jerk vote along party lines without regard to what that will mean for local policies.

Agree that it was very unhelpful that Dalia took no stance. Her position would have been persuasive in a way that alcorn’s and bierman’s (both made very strong public statements against the casino) couldn’t be because she represents that area. Maybe it could have been killed for good instead of almost certainly coming back next year.

Also important is having honest people in the Tysons district representing them. Dalia Palchik is the supervisor for much of Tysons and never took a stance on the casino. Shouldn't she have been at the forefront supporting her residents against this proposal? The Hunter Mill District representative was adamantly against it publicly. Both the Providence supervisor and school board rep have suspect behaviors in politics seeming to be it more for the political gain than supporting their community. Dalia's town hall is Monday, March 10th at 7-8:30 pm at the Jim Scott Community Center at 3001 Vaden Drive Fairfax, VA 22031. Please come out to the meeting and ask what her stance is on a casino in her district. You don't need a ticket and can just show up.

He definitely needs to be primaried. This kind of corrupt politician negotiating deals with specific developers is not what I want representing the Democratic Party. I don’t live in his district but I sure hope his constituents kick him out.

This is why Democrats lose races. Keeping people in power who do not act in the best interests of the majority of the population is short-sighted. "Democrat" does not automatically mean "best candidate" or "always votes in the best interests of those s/he represents". The casino is a big quality of life issue for the area, and we need representatives who recognize that instead of those who prioritize funding for the rest of the state at the expense of Tyson's residents.
