My broader concern is...what happens when they crash the economy, when debt is piled higher, when the dollar is replaced with crypto.
That impacts everyone. And if Trump decides "meh, I hereby proclaim the US no longer will service the debt owned by China" - then what?
See, this is what we're not going to do. We're also not going to cry over families separated at the border, kids in cages, nazi rallies, pussy grabbing, etc etc. We're going to watch the show with calm detachment and popcorn.

Yes. But the groups who will mostly be impacted voted for him. We were told that we are condescending to try and help, warn, prevent. So. There it is.

The only times in the last 25 years the incumbent party has kept the White House followed events that unified the country (9/11 and the death of Bin Laden). Barring something else along those lines I feel like the pendulum will soon swing back the other way.
You are an idiot there is no going back

I don't think it's about idiots choosing Trump as much as how devastating the current landscape of US is on so many fronts.
If you want to blame someone, blame the political party of the Democrats for not rising to the occasion - how hard is it to beat a convicted felon with no self control? I had higher expectations for these "smart" professionals, I have zero expectations for the regular Joe. People vote for what they think they need. It's not that people are dumb, it's that people are desperate for change and hope.
Sorry--it is that many of them are "dumb". These are the same "idiots" who in 2012+ were excited to say they finally had healthcare options for first time, yet hate "Obamacare". Because they are too dumb to realize their healtcare/the ACA IS OBAMACARE. The immigrants who think "trump isn't talking about deporting me, he can't be, we are good hardworking people". Ok, so you voted for him and now you will learn if he wants to deport you (hint: unless you are from Europe he probably wants to deport you and doesn't really care about you).
So you are desperate for change and you definately got change. Hope you enjoy it and it doesn't destroy you too much. In 5 years you might finally realize that the economy in 2024 was recovering from the Pandemic and that in reality the US managed the recovery much better than almost every other country.
OP here - to be clear - I DID NOT VOTE FOR TRUMP! All of you folks who keep reiterating how dumb and terrible those who did vote Trump - you are the ones who caused this mess! Who wants to be told they are an idiot repeatedly? Do you love it when GOP refers to Dems as morons?? I can't believe you do.
NO - people flock to Trump not because they are idiots but because they have nothing to inspire them to think to be better than what he espouses. He is very very good with certain types of people. As big a buffoon as he is, he has a certain talent and appeal for talking straightforwardly. It is exactly because team Kamala 100000% sent the message about how terrible Trump is v how she compared to him, that people ended up voting for him.
All of you on this thread who want to accuse T100% of Trump voter of being clueless and horrible people - guess what? They are ALL AROUND, does this really make your day knowing that MORE people are pro Trump than not? If the world is this horrible you ought to simply leave it - why are you even here? And definitely leave the US because clearly, being around all these idiots has to suck! What kind of perspective is this that gets you through the day - your lives must be more miserable than all the idiots you call.
As for me, I know definitely that there are those who are wrong to believe Trump because they are less educated and can't think for themselves. However, I believe also that a lot of these Trump voters voted for him because they hope he may give them a better future because what they have today is not working for them. I don't know that they are right but it was a vote based on hope, no matter how misguided as it were their motivation is. That's my point - this election was won not because more than 1/2 this country are idiots but because many people are so unhappy they were desperate enough to vote for someone like Trump.

Okay. Time to fix all that. Hop to it and hit the ground running, I guess. People expect results when you hold all the strings.
Exactly this. Let's see how much progress they get on all of the Trump promises based on their own actions. Remember, can't take credit for Biden era policies on anything. I'll especially love to see Trump's "concepts of a plan" for health care that will be superior to Obamacare. I suppose it'll be out a very short period of time.
There is absolutely nothing stopping Trump from taking credit for Biden-era policies. Trump just needs to say that he caused the success because it is under his watch. Period.
