I work in social media, and I’ve seen how wanting views and attention warps people into behaving pretty weirdly. The vast majority of people who found a rug would either just dig it up themselves, or if they thought there could be a body, wouldn’t live-stream it and post constant updates.
Given that she had a bunch of lead up talking about how she thought her house was haunted, I think this rug was either planted, or she knew about it way before, built up suspense by talking about her house being haunted (it’s not), then “discovering” the rug.
People get addicted to the attention and behave more and more strangely to get views. A normal person would not turn this into a multi-episode drama.

This would have been nothing if the 2 separate cadaver dogs didn't find something. Why did both dogs get it wrong?
K9s have a fairly high false positive rate especially when they think their handler may want them to alert/they have been reinforced for alerting before in a scenario they find familiar. They are dogs, and they are a tool. They can be helpful for locating things, following a trail, give some indication sometimes but they are extremely variable. The process also relies on humans to interpret their alerts which has a margin of error.
In this case it’s just the screening tool the responding agency had to justify using considerable resources on a more complex operation.
I am neutral on law enforcement (it’s obviously necessary in society), but I do think most K9 activity doesn’t have a lot of evidence and many times could be replaced with better tools in 2024. So I do think it’s worth discussing. I don’t blame individual K9 handlers who are doing their job and following their agency policy.
It would be interesting to know what the two dogs actually tracked. Two dogs sent out at separate times went to the same spot in the yard.

Agee with you 100% people who don't work on the industry are so trusting its scary
PP. Yea, pretty much everything is staged at this point. I remember doing content for a wellness creator who would binge drink for a week straight and make a video about how she was on a juice cleanse using the OJ she was mixing vodka with.
Any of those videos where someone happens to catch something crazy in public - 99% staged.

This is the equivalent of making a false 911 call, she needs to be fined or criminally charged
Huh?? The police initially came at her request. Then it was up to them. The POLICE made the decision to bring the cadaver dogs AND to excavate. What did she do wrong?
She pretended she found a buried rug.
