Last day of October - I'll chime in. Just read Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty. Loved it. Loved the power of observation and power of suggestion. Just also finished Dixon, Descending by Karen Outen. Loved it, too. I'm fascinated by all things "climbing Mount Everest" and this was a novel about two Black brothers attempting to be the first Black Americans to summit. Not my usual type of book but was highly entertained.

Just finished "Expiration Dates" by Rebecca Serle.
It is about a woman living in L.A. who magically receives a note each time she starts dating someone new. The note says the person's name and how long they will be dating. She got the first note at age 11, and she "dated" the boy for 8 days. Finally at age 33 she receives a note with a name and no expiration date.

I thought it was fine. Fun. Some parts were a little sad.

I picked the book based on a recommendation here on DCUM a while back.
Downloaded it as an audiobook from my library.

I started All the Frequent Troubles of Our Days because of this thread and I’m struggling with it. The story could be better told- the short, choppy, endless simple sentences are driving me crazy. It’s a compelling idea for a narrative but the writer’s voice is so blah. I’m finding myself bored in a story about an American spy against Hitler which makes no sense.

The Grey Wolf, Book 19 in the Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny

I just finished the Lisa Maria audio book. It has clips of Lisa Marie as well. Recommend!
