This is honestly the most likely outcome. No matter how fat or ugly the doctor, there are young, cute nurses around who find the intelligence, power, and yes, income level very attractive.

LOL. My MIL is the ex wife of a doctor. Unemployed her whole life...alimony didn't get her much. She lives in a trailer home.

OP you know the answer to your question - you need to apologize and assure him you love him unconditionally. The problem is that those words have to be true. Do you?

As for the poster raising you have nothing to apologize for - absolute nonsense. It’s always ok to voice your concern for your spouse’s health, whether it’s alcohol or nicotine or weight. But your suggestion about his social impacts was hurtful, almost certainly untrue (a pot belly on a mostly muscle man would not do that) and unnecessary. And its impact on your sex life even if true didn’t need to be said either.

OP never said he was obese.

I could never be married to an obese man. I would divorce.

Fat American women making excuses why they are fat lol. Stop freaking drinking too much wine and cocktail every weekend. In some parts of the world women who are biologically similar to you are not far. They have the same hormonal challenges as you do.

Honestly, it’s really a problem of perception. Your sex life is dead because you can’t see him for who he is.
I agree that partners should support and encourage healthy behaviors, since you will be caring for your partner in sickness and want a long healthy life with them. However, telling him to lose weight bc it “looks gross” is not the same sentiment.
Look for the good in him, the qualities he has that are wonderful, and don’t take him for granted. His weight loss will come when he feels loved and supported.

I'm not sure how you can be " fit" yet have a pot belly as man. Something else is wrong as a physician he likely knows what it is and doesn't want to deal with it.

Also a potbelly has never stalled a career for a physician especially a male
