I’d love for my daughter to play in a club where she can play for years (if she’s good enough to make the team each year). So I’m doing my research to find a club where my daughter can develop and grow her love for volleyball!
Paramount is a strong club in CHRVA but I heard some dramas happened last season across multiple age groups. Does anyone know what really happened with Paramount’s teams last season? This is what I’ve heard-
13-1: coach got fired
16-1: coach quit mid-season
17-1: multiple players quit mid-season
Did this really happen? I know every club has dramas but this seems a bit too much. Is VA Juniors a better alternative?
Not a Paramount parent, but I did hear from a parent of a player on the 17s team that multiple players quit mid-season.
As to the other two, I don't know the reasons why, but it does appear by comparing rosters from tournaments for the early part of the season to the end of the season that both the head coaches from the 13-1s and 16-1s were different from the beginning of the season to the end.

Do you know why 17-1 players quit mid season? I heard it was because of playing time but it’s hard to believe they pay $$$ for Paramount and just quit mid season.
Clearly the coaching change was good for the 16s: they finished 5th place overall at USAV GJNC in the National Division
Clearly the players that quit the team for 17s weren't key contributors, as that team finished 5th overall in the American Division of GJNC

I don't have enough information to answer the following questions:
Is there too much travel for a new club? I feel like they are overly ambitious.
Will they be able to attract players with skills appropriate for the tournaments that they added on the schedule? I doubt it, but I am sure they will try hard to prove me wrong. It all depends who shows up at the tryouts and what other options those players have.
$5500? Why are VA clubs so greedy? How comes MD clubs can do it for almost half the price (even less if we include MVSA)? Is there a hidden VA fee that nobody knows about?
The most likely answer to all of these questions is a resounding "no." The Club Director doesn't even live in the area. She just moved out of the area this summer.
ANSWER:
While the club director did relocate she is extremely involved with her Assistant Director, Coaching Staff, Board, and Parents/Players (no matter if they choose to make Legacy VBA their home or not). She has helped tons of families around the country find their player(s) find a college/university home! Please do not pass judgment on a person you know ZERO about. Don’t put your bias off on this Director because of your past personal experiences. This Director eats, sleeps, and breathes volleyball. It behooves you or it’s in your BEST interest to check out her YOUTUBE CHANNEL: The Volley Truth
I think the advice to reserve judgment is fair, but I think it's also fair to be cautious with spending a large amount of money on an unproven club. I have no doubt the club director and coaches have the best intentions, but attracting full teams of players that are able to really compete at a high level to a first year club is ambitious. Players with that type of skill and experience will likely have options - it doesn't seem prudent for athletes like these to risk their money and a full season on a club with no track record.
ANSWER:
While I respect what you are saying I will ask but it’s ok to ride the bench of a club for up to 4 years because said club is a successful club??? With a CORE GROUP that will never change or give very little wiggle room?
Sure the club director and coaches can point to successful teams that they have coached in the past, but it's a lot easier to be successful within an existing club, where there are usually a core group of experienced players that stay with a club from one season to the next. I do sincerely hope they prove me wrong though.
There is a need for more quality clubs within CHRVA.

ANSWER:
Understood how some might feel that it’s too much travel, but No, it’s not. They are doing 3 USAV QUALS, will fight to get into BID REGIONALS, and the rest is relatively local.
The players in the CHRVA REGION are ready to stop riding the bench at clubs with 15 players deep or step from behind the shadow of a 2’s teams and show what they are able to do.
I feel like they are overly ambitious.
Will they be able to attract players with skills appropriate for the tournaments that they added on the schedule?
ANSWER:
Why would that be overly ambitious??? There are different levels of play that teams can enter in per skill levels. I am sure that change is scary for MOST (even when what they KNOW is not right fir them), but CHANGE can be good and LEGACY is glad to be another option.
I doubt it, but I am sure they will try hard to prove me wrong.
ANSWER:
There is no need for LVA to try to prove anyone WRONG. LVA is here for any player(s) willing to grind, be gritty, and come into the gym (practices or tournaments) to get at least 1% better EVERY TIME. If you have a player that fits that description have them tryout.
It all depends who shows up at the tryouts and what other options those players have.
ANSWER:
I will agree with this statement because LVA is NOT REC BALL!
$5500? Why are VA clubs so greedy? How comes MD clubs can do it for almost half the price (even less if we include MVSA)?
ANSWER:
Don’t know why everyone thinks that the prices are GREEDY, but they ate the going rates across the country. To include MD. Please price check BEFORE speaking. It also depends on what tournaments the clubs enter in hence AAU tournaments are not as long or expensive as USAV. MVSA is so cheap because it doesn’t pay its coaches ONE RED CENT!!! That is absolutely insane to think that a coach is coaching 2-3 days per week and MORE when considering the planning time! Hats off to the COACHES over at MVSA!
Is there a hidden VA fee that nobody knows about?
