My eating habits have changed for the better; dinner portions aren’t tiny, but I generally have no interest in and skip the carbs like bread, potatoes, or rice. No dessert afterwards, no snacking. I’m setting a better example now than pre medication.
Why can’t you do this without medication?
Lack of discipline depressed and sad
These drugs are not popular anywhere else besides America so what gives
They are only available in the US, and somewhat in Canada and Britain.

I just thought that a lot of people taking these drugs have diabetes and/or insulin resistance, so it helps you avoid the higher GI fruits. I also read something about how dairy at night isn't recommended because you'll have stomach issues/nausea.
I really know very little, so I was curious about how it actually makes you lose weight.

What?
What do you mean "What?" I'm not PP, but I'm Wegovy and have had blurry vision as a side effect after each increase in dose. Fortunately mine did improve.
I'm on Wegovy and have never had blurry vision. What did your doctor say about it? Is it possible you are sometimes dehyrated or your blood pressure is too low? Those can cause blurred vision also.
She said it's a known side effect of Wegovy, and left it at that. Had my shot last night, and sure enough -- today, I need my reading glasses whereas yesterday I did not.
How's your blood sugar? I read that, since it lowers blood sugar, that can cause blurry vision in people who may have blood sugar issues.
Maybe try eating something that could elevate blood sugar, and see if that helps?

Stay at the lowest dose as long as possible. Be patient, and I find more comfort in logging my food. I take fiber gummies every morning, and use ginger chews for any mild nausea. My side effects have been very minimal. Usually if I feel nausea it means I need to eat something.
In addition to having protein shakes on hand, I eat Good Culture cottage cheese and Ratio yogurt. All help to give me a protein boost when needed.
Otherwise, I'm eating healthy, smaller portions of my normal foods.

I think she’s lost maybe 9 pounds in all this time, not quite on the max dose. She’s never had side effects. She has no insurance coverage. She’s been obese her entire life. Has anyone heard of this?
Does it work better for people who just gained a lot of weight over years and not so well on life long fat persons?
If that were true she’d lose weight, especially if she is obese. It’s not a magic drug - you still need to be in a calorie deficit. It’s possible she is eating less than she was, but still more than she needs. I’m started working with a dietician and was amazed at how small healthy portion sizes really are.
