My kids had him at Barnsley too! He was intense but my kids really loved him. Thought he was funny and did silly things to motivate the kids. He could be loud but he always meant well.
I do wonder if we really know the whole story. While I agree all kids need to be safe the consequences seem a lot. Like MCPS didn’t do enough with Beidleman and now doing so much more, perhaps too much? I don’t know but it’s all very sad.

Wtf??
Well here comes another settlement. Time to lay off another 5 teachers to pay off a settlement for an incompetent administrator.
The courts generally do not award much in damages in these cases

You think the consequences for intentionally stomping on someone else’s body part (a minor child’s body part) are too great in this situation? You are delusional and if this were your precious child you’d be singing a different song
How do we know it was intentional? I don’t see from the charging document that intent is mentioned nor proven.

I know this principal and had many conversations with him when my child was at Barnsley. I am not specifically a fan or a critic, just experienced him as someone trying to do his job. I didn't always agree with his takes and would say he had an unrealistic expectation that kids would have positive behaviors and compliance at all times, which is just not realistic. But he could also be reasoned with.
Whatever happened I can say he didn't have a record of physical interactions with children so I can imagine he lost his temper and now is paying the consequences. That is something I can imagine happening to many people.
I am sad for the kid who experienced that from a trusted adult, for the kids who were witnesses, and for that school community.
It's just all so unfortunate.
