Can you clarify or explain "intense"? Or give a couple of examples? I guess my kids never had an intense principal. It doesn't sound good to me, but it could be I just don't understand the dynamic.

The courts generally do not award much in damages in these cases

Especially when there are no actual witnesses just anonymous complaints.

It’s the cost of hiring lawyers and all of the fees associated with it that is problematic for the county. Just another example of rising costs

How do we know it was intentional? I don’t see from the charging document that intent is mentioned nor proven.

Are you that dumb or just that loyal to this person? The intent was enough to get him arrested. The police do not arrest you based on nothing, no matter what conspiracy theorists may say

If I had to guess I bet the parent was definitely not satisfied with how mcps handled this and probably wasn’t satisfied with how their child was being managed by the school all along. This child was very small- in kindergarten. There is no excuse for such ill treatment of a five year old and that parent has every right to push consequences if that’s what happened

He was my kid’s principal at Barnsley and I feel pretty similar to this.

This seems like the right take.

I wonder what MCPS has been doing this whole time. Four months is plenty of time for the school to come to some agreement with the family. And I don't mean a monetary settlement-- I doubt there is much in the way of damages here-- but more from a disciplinary side.

Did MCPS refuse to do anything other than admin leave? Did the union prevent them from doing anything? Did the parents demand something unreasonable?

I'm pretty sympathetic all-around here. I have a child with special needs and significant behavioral issues. I worry about these kind of things happening to him. But I also know how challenging he is to deal with, and I think I'd be pretty forgiving if I thought someone was generally well-intentioned but made a mistake under challenging circumstances.

I wouldn't find physical handling or even a foot stomp to be unforgivable if the person otherwise had treated my child well.
