The horrible Valor one was set up to directly compete with fpyc-same weekend so they cant do both.

There are multiple rec all star tournaments especially in the spring. There’s FPYC and that horrible Valor one this spring. I’m sure there’s more.

And only 7 games scheduled in NCSL-rec: that's $78 a game AND their home games won't even have enough away players for a real game. So maybe 4-5 real games this seasn, Serious yikes.

And, NCSL isn't doing this out of charity. They are making a lot of money off this league. They don't have to mess with scheduling referees, player cards, or any of that. All they are doing is scheduling and charging $150-200 per team for the privilege.

It is a mystery as to how the FFC got added in the first place, why they only have 7 games instead of the guaranteed 8, and why some of their teams only have a few home games. My guess is the savvier rec clubs pushed back on the draft schedule and games were canceled or switched locations before they were even published, but who knows.

The issue is its a northern virginia suburban league, and the teams shouldn't have to drive to fredericksburg to play one rec soccer game. SFL put a lot of work into keeping the games a reasonable distance apart and that's the expectation.

If FFC wants to join a league so badly that is nowhere near their area, they should have to drive to all their games as away games. Otherwise, they should find teams to play in their area.

You can tell from the scores that all their home games last week didn't have enough opposing players show up to play.

I still think NcSL was trying to do the right thing by keeping SFL alive after the people running it wanted to retire. There is no other group with the system in place and the experience running a league to step in. That said, how Fredericksburg got added is odd. If they could get some clubs local to them perhaps they could run a southern tier of it.
We want everyone to be able to play so now the goal needs to be figuring out how to make that work. Reaching out to clubs in that area seems like a good idea, but any of them following this thread would likely shy away. I wonder what the push back from their teams has been with the fact that NOVA people don’t want to drive south for one game and they will have to drive north for half of theirs? I’d be curious to know about that.
