I think this is the plausible explanation of the fear tactics the lawyers used to give guidance to the BOE. What’s so confusing though is that there is no evidence that there was any discrimination in play here. Her mistakes and malfeasance were numerous, public, and had no connection to her personal background.

They're paying *a lot* more than the contract's provisions for early termination.

She is meaner than a hornet, and would have pulled the school district down even further as she dragged out the termination process in court. This is more than just Beidleman. She was a poor manager and the whole school district continues to pay the price.
