Heck, post your house here and you’ll probably find a buyer.

The homes that are larger and in prefect locations with good lots walking distance to downtown and train are now like 2.5 to 4 million.
It's amazing how the free market works. No one wants to live in Bethesda, yet all the housing is expensive because... everyone wants to live in Bethesda?

No one. Just totally
Offended by the poor yet wannabe snobs in Bethesda. Some of the worst people around and yet they have no reason for it. Thanks goodness they can’t afford to live where I do.

I'd continue searching in Bethesda. People love to hate on it, but it's actually great.
You won't find noticeably better public schools and your neighbors will be people who were willing to pay a premium to send their kids to Bethesda schools (or they go private).
I'd also look in the good part of Kensington and Chevy Chase.

Seriously though, why laugh?
If PP cares about school rankings then they will care to make a distinction between the part of Kensington with a 10 ranked elementary school vs the part with a 3 ranked elementary school. They literally said they were moving for school quality.

Our family moved here (from another part of the US) hoping for a nice neighborhood with interesting, diverse (race, ethnicity, careers, interests) people. This place is anything but that, and it seems like everyone got memo before they moved in: Vineyard Vines wardrobe, check. Range Rover, check. Yellow goldendoodle, check.
You must be in 20816. Come over to a different neighborhood - downtown has all that, Woodmont Triangle, etc.

I had to check to make sure this wasn't an old comment of mine. I'll go to get bagels and there's one camp my daughter likes there, but otherwise not my cup of tea at all. I'm much happier in Silver Spring.
