Just curious as to how?
The AGM conference was scheduled long ago.. almost seems like ECNL was trying to get ahead of the news getting out…
More like one idiot made something up and posted it on X.
Then another idiot was looking for news that the ECNL cult whats to hear added to the lie and amplified it.
Finally the lie went viral with all the ECNL parents desperate for news that aligns with their agenda.
While all this was happening GA was promoted in US soccer.

I don’t understand why anyone would want a monopoly, whether it’s ECNL or GA or anything else.
The Special Olympics were announced with the same membership at the same meeting.
I don't have anything bad to say about GA. I do agree that another league is helpful. I don't want a monopoly. But be real. GA is far away from an equal league. They are way behind. This announcement will not help in the short term or even medium term. top kids are 90% in ECNL. That will continue.
Let me ask you a question...
Not even thinking about leagues or recruiting and you had a choice between a club that can get your kid into college. Or a club that can get your kid into college or they can play professionally. (if they're good enough) Which one would you choose?
Most people would choose the second option that allows for college or pro. This is what MLS Next provides. ENCL only provides a springboard for college.
This is what makes GA partnering with NWSL such a threat to girls ECNL.
Let me ask you a question, where does NWSL acknowledge this partnership at all?
The fact that a prominent figure that is heavily involved in nwsl said this is what they were working towards for 4 years. Proof is in the pudding bud
There’s no proof of this.
This is the post.
This is a huge full circle moment and I couldn’t be happier for the girls - GA alum and current players.
This was our vision from day 1. Dropped by US Soccer to only be granted full membership by US Soccer 4 years later. Absolutely fantastic to see this critical piece be solidified. 👏🏾

They're probably dripping the details out slowly to smoke out any clubs thinking about defecting from GA.
They're also probably waiting for ECNL to make an announcement to return volley with another announcement of their own.

NWSL is not the only pro women’s league starting in August https://www.uslsuperleague.com/news/2024/02/09/usl-super-league-receives-division-one-sanctioning-from-u-s-soccer-and-confirms-field-of-teams-for-inaugural-season/
It’s an unknown at this point but in a year or two NWSL could be in a much weaker position. Impossible to say how GA/ECNL/NWSL will come out of all this
Exactly why NWSL needs to partner with youth clubs now. If they don't do it USL likely will.
