We had the best time. The kids decorated aprons and then we made DD a huge stack of pancakes and sang to her. Everyone ate. We ended up making 150 regular pancakes and 60 tiny pink funfetti ones for the kids. We had 18 regular ones left and 2 little ones. The coffee was 3/4 gone, mimosas were totally gone, a little apple juice left. I cut up 1 large watermelon, 2 cantaloupes, 2 honey dew melons, and 2 pineapples (which were actually all ripe and great- I was pleasantly surprised) and I'd say 25% of the fruit was left. I got so many compliments on the the theme and time. Most people were heading to church, errands, etc afterwards. Lots said it was so nice to wake up and have somewhere to head for breakfast. It was actually funny to see- most adults just went for it and were making these very elaborate stacks of pancakes like one pancake, layer of whipped cream, layer of strawberries, another pancake, another layer of toppings with sprinkles at the very top

Will add pics below. I know this is DCUMland so don't judge my house which we recently bought and is largely original from 1964...and now will be staying original even longer bc of my job ugh.

The pics- OP no reason for ANYONE on DCUM to judge. People here act all superior and yet this is one of the VERY few times I have ever even seen someone add pics of their home/topic of discussion . Kudos for that in and of itself!!!

I will admit, I was one of the posters who— while supportive of your effort, would not go this all out for a 3 year old.

But you did a great job and it looks like it was a blast! Super glad it turned out and thank you for sharing some pics of the result! Wish more DCUMers would do this!

That's amazing; thank you so much, OP!

Remember, that staying original is a Vintage Style Choice that you are making and everyone will be impressed with that.
