If he picks DeSantis, it'll be closer.
I think picking Scott for him is the logical choice in that he can bring in the black, southern and religious/GOP party/right wing vote in the national election. I personally think Scott is actually scarier (Vivek too!) than Trump from the perspective that I can read Trump. Trump is kinda old news - he's an idiot blah blah blah. I think he's awful but he's kinda dumbToo emotional! He won't blow up the world and he won't damage anything in this country permanently. He's what we know because he's been in office before.
I think we will be the laughingstock of the world, I think absolutely he should not be our President and I agree that he will make life harder for a lot of good people by preaching hate and division. I would argue however that the GOP is on that already and I would also argue that people who are hateful will be hateful in private anyway so we'll see more of it out in the open because of Trump but he isn't so powerful as to turn people into crazies if they weren't already crazy to begin with.
Vivek and Scott on the other hand - they aren't blowhards. They truly believe in the shit they spew which to me is out of control. I laugh at Trump and don't take him seriously because I truly think he's a genius at marketing so 1/2 the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just babble that people give legitimacy to when they shouldn't. That's his power - we give him so much power - we give him credibility to his followers who embrace his type of hatred. I actually don't think he believes and knows 1/2 of what he says.
Having heard both Vivek and Scott - I think they are much more serious in their craziness and because they haven't been around to know what they are capable of. They both seem like followers of the right wing and that in itself is waaaay scary. Trump at least isn't following that mess - he just comes up with some crazy ass shit on his own like the Mexican wall stuff - totally impractical and unrealistic. Also I think Trump's age is a risk so whomever his #2 is - that's a good chance they get to be #1.
