Look, no matter how this disgruntled you are with the current principal, there’s no way in hell they’re gonna kick her out after Pineda. Nobody wants to run the risk of getting rid of her and then be stuck with someone like Pineda. He was so awful and we all suffer from PTSD from that experience, so no matter what, we need to give her a chance. And truth is, some teachers need to go. And some of the admins as well. But the kids aren’t bully and the community is quite nice. This school suffers from chronic disorganization and terrible communications. Brito needs to fix that.

Cool. I’m the PP from a week ago, 3/16. I’m glad I wasn’t totally oblivious and missing something! We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive experience. It’s been really great for our kid. There are a few things that are a little annoying, but it’s probably more me/us than the school. The “something shady happened in Boston” beef is actually pretty funny and makes me want to come visit this forum more often.

Fellow OA parent here. There are a couple repeated posters on here who are disgruntled and trying to start stuff. My kids are happy and thriving and I don’t know of any major drama or crisis of teacher morale in either of my kids’ grades. I’m not worried!

Obviously kids don't know what happens between teachers and admin...

I'm also very involved at the school and work with the teachers all the time and I have not heard anything related to what the PP is talking about. I'm not saying something couldn't be going on, but the tone of these posts and complaints sounds to me like someone with a personal beef. I just get frustrated with these posts because OA is a great school.

+1 adding it’s a large school with alot of teachers and admin that care deeply, so some cohort of that group is always unhappy about some element of the leadership. I don’t doubt there are issues, but it’s a good school.

apparently she is shady. I did look up what the disgruntled teacher claimed. You can see that Ana originally accepted a low paying job in some private school out in Wisconsin in 2024 before changing her mind to go to D.C. I did check salaries and it is correct; something fishy happened at her old job in Boston.

So what exactly does this have to do with the status and performance of the respected school the principal is running in 2026?

As another person pointed out, the staff morale is low. If it's low, they are likely to leave and get replaced by less experienced teachers. Do you not see an issue with that?

Sure? But what is the reasoning beyond "something shady happened in boston".. Shouldn't teachers be organizing to try to clarify their beefs? It sounds more like one or 2 teachers have a personal beef or were reprimanded in some way and are trying to create a vague narrative to parents to force out a principal without having to get directly involved if it doesnt go according to their plan. A principal who is by all accounts night and day better than the one prior (not the interim).

If kids arent happy.. Parents will address it.. If Parents arent happy.. They will address it.. If staff isnt happy.. they will need to find a way to address it and a common sense way to do that would be by talking to the principal directly whether in a staff meeting or one ones.
