Right there with you, except that I only had it for the first time a few years ago. Sounds like such a bizarre combo, but it works!

The 1950s Betty Crocker cookbooks had a dessert recipe called “Bavarian Cream” that I bet is bavarois.

I am a cocktail weenie in that grape jelly based sauce kind of gal this time of year.

My mom made those cheerios when I was a kid - remember loving them!

Heinz baked beans.

I saw a TV show last night where they were making egg and chips for dinner and man, I want to go and get a bag of oven fries and just eat egg and chips. Maybe with a chip butty on the side.

No thank you to the Cranberry Orange sauce with Grand Marnier and lemon zest. I’ll take two lines of Ocean Spray, please.

PS - I had to look up Bavarois. It looks DELICIOUS!

I only know what Bavarois is from watching The Great British Baking Off. They have so many varied desserts. In America it's mostly just cakes, pies, and cookies. All very simply prepared.

The GBBO contestants are often making things Brits would normally buy from a bakery. You can get most of those things at a bakery here.

It all depends on the pecan/sugar ratio. I love pecan pie, but can’t take the kind with a thin layer of pecans on top of two inches of filling.

Waldorf salad! The stuff with mandarins, apples, celery and raisins— and mini marshmallows! — in a mayo sauce! tried it at a salad bar, and became obsessed!

I’m not a big pie fan and tomorrow I’d kill for a Vienetta.

Was wondering if there was a regional or age thing here. I don't think I've had or been offered anything on this beyond maybe pigs in a blanket.

That’s nice. Do you have anything to contribute, or no?
