Yes! When young Elizabeth is at the gate and Margaret tells her that she will always be by her side. So we'll done. This was my favorite episode.

I agree. Elizabeth became increasingly unlikeable as the seasons went on too, although maybe that was intentional.
I’m not quite finished with season 6 yet but the timing of the actor change for Harry and William is so distracting- Harry in particular. One episode he’s this little kid and the next he looks like a college student shooting whiskey? When barely any time had passed?

I know what you mean. I think it was always fictionalized to the same extent, but it hits different when we were around for the events and have some perception of it ourselves. It's not right view earlier seasons of The Crown as if it is a documentary, but it's easy to fall into that trap.

I really enjoyed this show when it started but these last seasons, for me at least, have not been enjoyable, mostly because I can remember these events fairly clearly (I’m the same age as William and Kate, basically). I don’t love what I assume are fictional details interspersed with the real facts - it’s so off putting and disingenuous when these people are very much alive and public figures. The show went easy on Harry. He was the screw up when he was younger too. Some people found him to be the lovable loser, but he always showed clear signs of mental and emotional issues and terrible judgment. Poor guy never had it together.
I enjoy the crown but have pretty low interest in the British royals generally. This comment is so gross to me though.
You are talking about someone whose parents went through an extremely public separation divorce when he was a child, and then whose mother was killed in a horrific accident when he was very young.
Having mental health issues is normal for someone with this background and not a sign of personal weakness or being a "loser." I don't care what your personal opinion is of him as a public figure, but talking about someone who you know for a fact experienced significant traumatic events in their child in this casually judgmental way is in so classless. Have an ounce of sensitivity.
Harry's always been a loser. Going through traumatic events doesn't excuse his lifetime of bad behavior.
It's not about excusing or not excusing -- everyone is accountable for their actions.
It's about taking someone's history into account and understanding that people don't always deal perfectly with extreme challenges, and being okay with it.
In any case, what is it that Harry has done that is so unforgivable? What was your expectation of him in life and how exactly has he failed to live up to it?

Completely agree. And regardless of what the PP claims, Harry was always beloved by the public. He was the "loveable rogue." The Harry portrayed on The Crown was mean and scummy - no other words come to mind. He did not do the real Harry justice. Whatever one thinks of present-day Harry/Megan, when he was a boy/teen/young man, he was a very sweet and kind person (regardless of his misbehavior) - and beloved by his country.
