Eh. I think building a billion dollar company changes you. I think he wanted a flashier lifestyle and probably had a certain type of woman to have kids with. Lots of men view their children as extensions of themselves but don’t view their partners that way.

Speak for yourself. She may be all those things but none of it makes me (or most posters, I assume) hate her. They are a like a circus freakshow display. So incredibly bizarre you suspect it's not real.

You're overthinking it. After a more cerebral and practical LT partnership, at mid life had wanted to be made to feel like a stud and have someone treat him like he's the hottest thing on the planet. No dummy, she plays her part well but it's not the kind of performance you're suggesting.

+2 Classic mid-life crisis swing in the other direction. All about feeling young and desirable. Will it last? Who knows. She seems to cater to him in just the way he likes, but he may tire of her at some point. Or grow up and realize his more mature self wants something different.
