"View counts" on X were exposed long ago to be bogus. Journalists and researchers have proven this by creating accounts with visibility settings locked down and saw view counts rack up when they shouldn't. Likewise, it's also been shown that view counts are artificially inflated by how the APIs work. And all throughout, some content has been artificially boosted.
