I couldn't agree more. Where are you my soul sister?

Relatable, not relative.

This. I'm watching my teen son and his partying friends right now. A couple have already developed problem usage. I think they are addicted, but I'm not an expert. What I can see, though, is how these two guys chase their highs at the exclusion of all else. How they steal from friends' houses so they can go buy their weed. How they get in arguments with their friends. How they inappropriately treat girls. And how they are now getting pushed away from their crowd because of their anti-social behavior. If people use a substance to alter mood, they need to understand how they impact relationships around them. Even if they don't care about safety while driving, etc. why don't they care about their friends and others who care about them?

She smoked daily throughout her teen years before she was diagnosed with cannabis-use disorder when she was about 20. At rock bottom, M.B. said, she smoked or used a vape pen roughly every hour, often waking up at night to take hits. M.B. said she believes her habit led to at least one psychotic episode and to the draining of her finances, even as she lived at home with her parents. She spent so much buying weed that she stole money from family to pay bills.

M.B. joined the program online in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, although the withdrawals weren’t easy. For about a week, she couldn’t keep down food, suffered intense headaches and felt so uncomfortable that she showered constantly.

“I was really angry, crying all the time,” M.B. said. “I had really intense dreams that I was smoking.”

Alcohol is worst by every measure. Cannabis is the safer substitute. Maryland never turn off the tax flow and soon the Beer/Wine crap will play second fiddle.

Thanks to NORML, MPP and the great citizens of the LEGAL states

Montgomery county has realized they have made a huge mistake allowing people to smoke and drive because they just hired an agency to educate the public on using weed safely.

Total straight up lie. Nobody is allowed to be impaired while driving. Period.

Exactly. These complainers don’t even know the laws. I laugh at them while I light my legal blunt at home. Look at them seethe.

NP. I have to chime in here. I just need to say this - as someone who has enjoyed marijuana on occasion - seek help. You are too invested in your love of a substance. Marijuana, like any other drug, has downsides. Stop acting like a moron and try to see both sides of the issue. Surely you learned critical thinking skills somewhere along the way, right? Perhaps if you stopped smoking so much you’ll be able to think straight.

DP here. There are no “both sides” to this issue. One side has made it their mission to persecute and imprison cannabis users for decades and the other side just wants to be left alone. We are rightfully happy that we don’t face violence from the state anymore. Who are you to scold the pp for their choices? Nobody ever said that there are no downsides. Was it clear and sober thinking that lead you to insult an anonymous person for having their own opinion? Maybe you should check yourself before diagnosing strangers.

Smoke is a nuisance and there are lots of people driving while high.

I followed one yesterday down the GW parkway. Driving his Land Rover, sucking his pacifier, window cracked, and glazed over stare. I exited and took a different route.

I think if they were consuming safely at home you’d *somehow* have a problem. Too Effin Bad.

Some of your neighbors are legally consuming and doing so without police harassement. This includes folks you would deem ‘undesirable’. Huzzah!

+1000 police as a weapon! not anymore !

What’s been defined as “impaired”? A certain amount of cannabis in their system? Is it against the law to smoke while driving altogether?

Hasn’t been defined yet.

https://wtop.com/local/2023/04/new-md-law-prevents-law-enforcement-from-using-smell-test-for-marijuana-dui-investigation/

You can be arrested for failing a field sobriety test, but not for a smell or any specific blood test measurement.

Oh that’s clear as mud

If a trained officer can’t even tell if you’re impaired after performing multiple sobriety tests then there is no valid reason to suspect that the driver is impaired. That’s basic logic. On what basis should a driver who is not behaving impaires be detained?

dont consent to sobriety tests. it is a trap.

Cannabis sales will exceed alcohol sales. Liquor demand will be reduced as well. Win Win! I can’t stand drunks. Go pass out in yer vomit and stay off the roads.

Recent use should be enough to lock you up. The high/impairment doesn’t always occur immediately. Like when consuming edibles.

It should be illegal
to drive while smoking. Just like open container is illegal.

I agree with you, PP. This poster is off the rails, but then marijuana use is associated with paranoia and increasing episodes of psychosis. This is not the pot smoked by 60s hippies.
