I'm a laptop user too, and yes it's giant. I thought about adjusting my zoom (I use chrome- it's the little microscrope in the right of URL) to scale it down a bit. Then I thought. No. Jeebus. I'm old and squinting. I'm going to just get used to this larger sizing because it's better for my eyes!

I'm using a laptop and holy cow, the whole site looks huge to me right now. It looked normal yesterday. Is making everything giant something I did or part of the new design?

Please note that, on portrait mode for my iPad (upright), the Forum List doesn't wrap properly. I.e., something like Private/Independent Schools text runs into the next image/text.

Thanks for all your hard work on this, Jeff!

I view the site using my mac laptop and currently on the Recent Topics page, the forum subjects along the left are super small font and the subject middle section is enormous. I preferred when both were the same size. The current size difference is jarring (though I will say it's large enough that I don't need my readers! ha!).

Terrible new layout

Love it! At first I couldn’t figure out the “Recent Topics” but then once I saw it was in the “hamburger,” it was smooth sailing.

Thanks Jeff!

Much better, thanks!

New format is working fine so far on my apple devices, but would you consider moving (could you? I have no idea how web design works) the location of the cancel button? It’s where the old submit button was and I canceled four posts today before actually reading. I’ve used this site so much it’s muscle memory.

(May have been said on previous pages, I’m not reading back)

I’m on mobile too and I don’t like the layout. Now the ads appear just as large as the posts. I was ok with the old format tbh.

If we keep this format, how about adding some features? Like polls? More emoji? Etc

I'm going to collect a list of modifications to consider. I'll add this to the list. In the meantime, you can use the legacy site:

I hope the legacy version will not be removed because I can't use the new view of the site.

Brighter colors? I'm no design expert. It just seems flat.

Using an Android phone, and I do NOT like the new format. The recent topics button is missing (yes, found it in the hamburger, but that's an extra step), and the recent topics list is too short because the font is larger. Also, no color variation between posts, just the bold topic/subject - looks like a page of single spaced writing with every other line or so bold. Not pleasing to my eyes
