Well, one positive is that even Hilldale College stopped their collaboration with the school where the "David statue" debacle occurred.
Because they don’t want the bad press. Hillsdale has big plans to sell their curriculum across the Red States. Gonna feed like piggies at the public trough. 🐷

I realize I am old but I didn’t see a statue of David until I was in college. There are many examples of art that teachers can select for study. If this was in ES, I would certainly challenge the use of this in the curriculum. Even in MS only due to the immaturity of the students.
I wouldn’t care much- we have been to many museums in Europe, but I think there are just so many options out there, why select this piece? Seems weird to me.

I agree. And only one person ridiculously said it was, dude.
yes and only one person saying that resulted in the principal to be fired. only one parent filed a coomplaint against showing a Disney movie about Ruby Bridges (a parent who was given advance notice of the showing of the movie and who signed a paper to opt out so his kid was not shown the movie) and this resulted in the movie to be pulled for all the kids for "review". especially due to the new laws passed by GOP in Florida teachers and school administrators are terrified and firing a principal just because ONE parent objected sends a very chilling message.

It's completely sick and demented.

Except “Republicans” aren’t. Just one person. You people are such morons.
Again. Your whole party is banning books, banning abortion, making it illegal to cross state lines, trying to make it illegal to be trans, trying to prevent drag shows from happening at all… You guys are insane. You can’t see that at this point but that’s the truth of it. You’re hung up on this one case being one father but you’re missing that he did get backup in this and that he’s just one dot in a massive constellation of crazy.
- Banning books? Removing inappropriate books (pornography) from public school libraries is not banning anything. You can still treat your children to these great works of literary art by taking them to the public library or ordering from Amazon. Knock yourself out.
- Banning abortion? Perhaps in some states. Others are restricted by gestational age. As in most of the world.
- Illegal to cross state lines? Only if you're taking a minor without a parent's consent. Duh.
- Illegal to be trans? Um, nope. Illegal to medically/surgically alter a minor? Yep.
- Preventing drag shows from happening "at all"? Nope. Again, you're welcome to attend all the drag shows you want. Bringing kids to them? Nope.
Perhaps people would take you more seriously if you were ever able to stick to the facts instead of embellishing with your hysterical hyperbole. Once again, only ONE person objected to the statue of David, and I personally think the school is absurd for caving to that one person. But sure, insist it's the "whole party." In that vein, your whole party is rapidly making free speech a thing of the past. Congratulations?
