There are people that see him as the only viable option. And being on a school board in this day and age is a thankless job, so the competition is light.

Based on what I've seen in posted videos, Reid's endorsement isn't going to age well. But the Stockton endorsement is a real coup for MT.
Goldstein's endorsement isn't going to move the needle, but no one knows or cares who Stockton is either. So, it's a wash.
What do you mean? Know one in ACDC knows who he is? I agree with that and they are the most likely voters. But I think any involved APS parent or staff knows who Stockton is and they are also likely voters (staff who live in Arlington, that is). I've already heard from people who were surprised by it. Otherwise I agree with you on ACDC. It's telling that Miranda has lined up alot of supporters who carry weight in ACDC and AC doesn't even seem to have support from Young Dems.
I'm a "very involved" parent/voter and I've never heard of him.
Reid's endorsement may not influence much, but it's more relevant than some random staff's endorsement.
Reid saw the impact of Miranda's group on the community.

He’s the only option for people who respect teachers, APS, and the school board.
More people might run for SB if certain parents were so abusive towards so many people in the community.

It is when you lead a grievance group.
I find it annoying, why does she get his ear? and why does he give her his valuable time?
I also find it annoying that our "22 years young" candidate has zero connections in the community.
Yes. I think it's a plus to hear that Miranda has been meeting with Duran regularly. Sounds like she has a relationship there.
Not sure what kind of relationship it is given the earlier posts about how she and her APE friends made fun of him during Covid.
I don't think that poster's perceptions are 100% reality.

There are other options. An Independent would run, especially if no popular dem receives an enthusiastic endorsement. Of course, Arlington really does believe there is only one choice: "D"
The last Republican on the school board was Dave Foster 15 years ago. It will likely never happen again, especially with todays Republican party. I don’t see how an Independent could manage a win either.
Anonymous wrote:I just saw Reid Goldstein's endorsement and I am flabbergasted. I mean, really? What a mockery of the School Board and the entire process. If there was any doubt about how little they care about students here, they are proving it in spades. I am a very lefty, liberal Democrat and I am so disappointed in ACDC, the School Board, etc. I guess time to get out the word in my own circles for voting in the caucus.

Anonymous wrote:Well, Reid used to walk out of the room when anyone from APE spoke at school board meetings, so I'm not surprised he would endorse a child.
The whole thing about Angelo "quieting" rumors he started by posting an announcement on his website that he quit is something else though ...
Also, I wonder what else a 22 year old is qualified to do? If youth on its own is qualifying, I guess 22 yr olds should run everything!
