All the young people in the Bush administration were pairing up and getting married at the time. Mercy needed something quick and he gave her a career/image boost too. She was probably oblivious then but eventually figured it out. I almost feel sorry for her but not quite.

Gay men can still get it up for a woman. But also, DC is literally the IVF capital of the country. Most of these kids are made in a lab, not the bedroom.
