School Sept22 – Sept23
Hamm 853 - 891
Gunston 1072 - 992
Jefferson 1012 - 1039
Kenmore 952 - 961
Swanson 886 - 929
Williamsburg 781 - 810
If the drop was solely due to residency fraud we would see it in the other schools at least a little bit. The real reason is probably a combination of the address confirmation and something else - maybe fewer Montessori/Immersion kids or people displaced by redevelopment?
Wrong. People think they can blend in better at certain schools.
At a minimum, you would expect to see a drop at Kenmore as well, there's no drop.

Seems like APS could open up a few hundred more seats across the system. Especially useful for the most over crowded schools.
They also check for kindergarten. And this would also catch siblings, so more than just two grades.
I suspect it's a manpower issue to do all of the grades at once.
yeah you know how people complain about too many staff at Syphax but then they also ask why doesn't APS do x, y, z?
Well... you can't have it both ways.
It wasn’t Syphax doing it last year, it was admin assistants, in the office of each School.
This was a Syphax initiative. Probably with the cooperation and assistance of individual school personnel; but still ensured it actually got done by Syphax. I believe the Planning and Evaluation department that everyone likes to complain about.
Obviously, the mandate come down from Syphax. The actual manpower was done at each school level.
hilarious that you think there's no manpower involved in managing this from Syphax. The program just magically got started and runs itself!
Residency checks are a worthwhile use of Syphax manpower.
Syphax is bloated with unnecessary positions.
Both things can be true. Turn on your brain.
Aaah, so you are the decider of which jobs are worthwhile and which are unnecessary. Got it.
Good! Glad you caught on!
So basically an a-hole. Got it. DP.
Are you really opposed to kicking kids out who live elsewhere? It’s not like they can’t go to school near their home…
No, but I'm opposed to people acting like a-holes on DCUM.
