High school is a range of 13-19+. This is where it is the biggest issue given classes are mixed like math. My MS is taking a HS class and many kids are much much older.

No kids are 13 in high school where I live (September 1 cut off and school starts after Labor Day so the youngest kids in a grade would turn 14 shortly before school starts going into 9th grade).

You are...not good at math. The cut off is September so therefore any kids born between September-December will be turning 18 fall semester of senior year of high school. They are not held back/redshirted. They are sent on time and their birthday falls after the cut off but in the first semester of the school year. All your point proves is that you had friends whose birthdays happened to be in spring-summer instead of fall-winter.

Um, yes they do. I was born in June and went to school on time. When I was in 4th-5th grade (I was age 9-10), some of my classmates were going through puberty.

There are men way older than 17 in any high school, they are called employees. What are you so worried about? The men in a 13 year old's home pose a greater threat to her than people at a school.
