Princess Diana graduated from high school with straight Ds on her report card, and never went to college. Ghislaine Maxwell, her contemporary, was a straight A student who went on to Oxford. One of them became a beloved humanitarian, the other a human trafficker.

Our society has a fundamentalist's focus on grades and academic achievement, thinking that this is what demonstrates intellect. But a neurotypical person with no imagination or real intellectual curiosity can get straight As and do nothing with it, while a neurodivergent person with a learning disability, or a trauma survivor who can't focus, can be a C-student and make great strides once they recover later in life.

Given her dating career, I suspect she has learned to play into men's emotions and egos -- she knows that they want to be worshiped, but not overtly, just constantly giving off the sense that she is so impressed by what a [whatever he wishes the world saw him as] he is. He was never going to get that from someone who's known him for decades.

Years ago, there was a spate of books about how women could achieve true happiness by suppressing themselves in service to being a completely devoted wife. One of the tips was "Admire the tiger he sees when he looks in the mirror." You know she's got that one down.
